We have two basic choices about that which we don't control...I prefer this child's choice...but sometimes I forget and I make the man's choice, and most often that is the unhappier option.
I was referring to the things we can't control (like rain)...we can choose to grumble about the inconvenience of it, worry about getting wet, take contrived steps to avoid it (umbrella), like the man, or we can choose to revel in the rain and enjoy it, like the little girl.
well, I have to admit that while re-reading my first comment, even I was a bit confused...I think the bad rests with me...I could have composed my thoughts much more clearly.
