The way we describe our lives
and understand them
is ultimately and inextricably
connected to the way we live them.
In a very real sense, we are the authors of our lives.

I like that, I agree too.

I have always liked William Sidney Porters take: "most autobiographies are insincere from beginning to end. About the only chance for truth to be told is in fiction."

I really that, norton, and it's very likely true.
Mandy is saying something a little different on the subject, though. She suggests that how we 'understand' our own life is how we 'live' it. In a very real sense, it's 'what you see is you what you get', you know? Though so much more complicated because the question arrises: is how/what we understand about our self and our life the truth about us, or planted there by others, never to be ripped out of the soil by a truer self in adulthood (for example ;)
Thanks for sharing..

I truly appreciate your explanation especially the "planted there by others" comment. Until we discover our true selves we are condemned to live the lives of another. An admirable goal.

And, it is my belief (as you know) that the act of writing daily will not let you off the hook! Through writing, we must become more & more authentic. ... à la prochaine!
