may haiku: hope ii

.
May: Hope:
against hope
a daffodil bursts open;
lining yellow clouds.

prairie oiseau

.
Mémère would have called it ominous,
the dead sapsucker I found
on your doorstep that day.
.....Yet how beautiful it was,
.....cloaked in orange and
.....black and white,
.....its tiny bird feet
.....turned toward
.....the sun-filled sky.

I want to sing like birds sing
not worrying who hears
or what they think.

prairie walk

.
over ancient land
that whispers
a thousand stories
I walk
..........and with
every step I hear
the song of
mémère's first
footfalls on the
rich prairie soil.

I keep my pace
in time with hers
and through time
and time again
we walk this land
together tied
in yesterday and
..........tomorrow.

to the drum of a
distant history
hand in hand
..........we walk
you and I.

31 words in May: Hope

.
( iii )
.
every
day
after day after

she waits

and she
waits and she

wonders
why
......no one told her

how painful hope is
...........................after

the seed
in the garden
remains a seed

31 words in May: Hope

.
( ii )
.
Wild bluebells appeared
in the barren garden
that spring morning
and she sighed and said,
well, there’s hope yet!

......She remembers this
because a tornado tore through
her garden that evening.

31 words in May: Hope

.
(i)

He left her that spring,
the day a warm brackish breeze had
delivered seeds to her garden
and hope seemed to float eternal
on the tangerine-crimson sun
that set past eight.

.

Always leave enough time in your life
to do something that makes you happy, satisfied,
even joyous. That has more of an effect on economic
well-being than any other single factor.

Cyclisme dans la cité, quatre mois plus tard:

.

The bicycles have multiplied

despite the "No Parking" sign.

.

bicyclettes pour deux..

intactes!!

Sadly, someone went through alot of trouble to nab this one.
All that is left is the parking sign, parralel to the earth it was pulled out from.

Though a bit worse for wear ...
the croc survived through Winnipeg's six months of winter!

I have been witness to lovely purple flowers popping up in so many (otherwise desolately uncoloured) neighbourhood yards since yesterday...

It is their first visit here, and, except that they're so very pretty, I haven't a clue what they are. I'm just glad Mother Nature chose my 'hood over which to sprinkle her magic seeds!
